4. What are the benefits for Company Drivers?

Our company drivers enjoy:

  • $0.55 per mile
  • 2,800–3,200 miles per week

5. What’s the “Lone Wolf” Program for Owner Operators?

Our Lone Wolf Division gives owner-operators maximum independence. Key features include:

  • Freedom to negotiate loads and rates directly (except in CA)

  • Choose your own operating areas and schedule

  • No forced dispatch

  • Generous compensation: 72% of line haul (82% with your own trailer), 100% of layover, detention, and extra drops

  • Open-door policy, discounted shop services, fuel card programs, insurance coverage, paid orientation mileage, and more.

6. Who founded A.R.T. and what’s our background?

We were founded in 2005 by Margaret & Roger Decker. Our roots go back over 30 years—Roger began as a company driver in the 1970s, became an owner-operator, and later launched General Transportation before starting A.R.T.

    7. What are the requirements to drive for A.R.T.?

    • Must be 23 years or older
    • At least 2 years of recent OTR experience
    • Tractor must pass DOT inspection
    • No DUIs/DWIs in last 5 years
    • No reckless driving convictions in last 2 years
    • No DOT reportable or preventable accidents in the past 12 months
    • No drug-related convictions
    • Must be able to perform essential safety functions (with or without accommodations)

    8. What kind of equipment and technology do drivers use?

    Our company drivers get newer trucks (2022+ Kenworth, Freightliner, Volvo) equipped with inverters, refrigerators, and TV mounts. Owner-operators typically bring their own equipment but enjoy discounted in-house maintenance.

    9. Can I operate where I prefer?

    Yes—especially under our Lone Wolf Program, owner-operators have the flexibility to choose their regions (except California). Company drivers also have scheduling options to maintain home time balance.
